Episode 5: Magic: The Gathering Format Discussion
Monday Dec 17, 2018
Monday Dec 17, 2018
Hello and welcome to the Homebrew Magic podcast! We're back after a brief hiatus due to scheduling conflicts and Packers games (but we won't talk about that here, still not over losing to the Bears).
We're back this week with the discussion on formats that it seems like we've been teasing forever!
One of the coolest aspects of Magic: The Gathering is that the game can be, and is, played under a variety of formats, including, but not limited to, Standard, EDH, Brawl, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, Draft, Sealed, Rainbow Stairwell, Two-Headed Giant, and Archenemy.
We'll take a deeper dive into the most popular formats in future episodes, but join us this week as we take a brief at just what each format entails, along with our favorite and not-so-favorite formats.
As always, please be sure to rate, review, and subscribe, and find us on or social channels on Facebook and Instagram with the handle @homebrewmagic. Or, if you feel so inclined, shoot us a message to homebrewmagicmke@gmail.com.

Episode 4: Nelson's Favorite Ultimate Masters Non-Box Toppers
Saturday Nov 24, 2018
Saturday Nov 24, 2018
We're back with our fourth episode!
Rather than finally get to the episode on formats that we've promised, Nelson decided to do a quick spot review of cards from Ultimate Masters that he's looking forward to now that Wizards has finally spoiled the entire set! He tries to shy away from Box Toppers as much as possible, but some of them are just unavoidable. Schnell and Teej will be back as soon as we get a better schedule that we can work with due to the Holidays and just life in general.

Episode 3: Ultimate Masters Discussion
Friday Nov 16, 2018
Friday Nov 16, 2018
Hello and welcome to this week's episode of Homebrew Magic! Last week we had mentioned that this episode was going to be all about formats - what we like, don't like, and everything in between. Between the time we recorded that episode and got together to record this one, some big news in the Magic world was released: Ultimate Masters is coming, and very, very soon.
Immediate reaction throughout the community was mixed, but we think it's pretty safe to say the majority, or at least the vocal majority, of players was, simply, pissed off. We thought that getting in on the conversation before the set was released was important, so we present to you our thoughts!
Please make sure to let us know what you think in the comments, via email to homebrewmagicmke@gmail.com, or on one of our social channels, via Instagram or Facebook, @homebrewmagic.
As always, please rate, review, subscribe, and be sure to tell a friend!
